Born in the Hunan province of China, and raised in Rochester, NY, Abby is on a endless journey of self discovery, growth, and finding peace via critical race theory, women of color feminisms, queerness, reindigenization, and doing it for the bit.
After living in California's Bay Area where they worked in urban forestry and drought mitigation, they moved to New York City to pursue a self-designed degree at The New School where they graduated with a Bachelors in Political Ecologies and Critical Methodology Studies.
Since, they have worked with grassroots and non-profit organizations in New York City and abroad, focusing mainly on coalition building for fossil-free energy, environmental education, zero waste advocacy, community outreach, urban agriculture, and compost. They also enjoy working on independent projects focusing on themes of diasporic solidarity building, world (re)building, identity exploration, and environmental protection.
In their spare time they like to veganize recipes, spend time in the forest, and obsess over what outfit they will be wearing to the function.
They are currently based out of Aoteroa, traveling occasionally, and working with an environmental justice education organization as a curriculum development volunteer.
